Classes for 2022-2023      Attend in Person or on Zoom

Starting this year our classes will be incorporated with our meetings.

Starting at 12:30 pm for a short general meeting
followed by a class taught by a lettering professional. 

Each class will be approximately 4 hours in length and cost $20 for members and $40 for nonmembers for those who Zoom.  The class is free for the members attending in person. The classes will be recorded and available for 3 weeks.

    Modern Copperplate with Flourishes with Kaye Hanna

    The program will cover Modern Copperplate techniques and simple flourishes to create beautiful lettering.

    The program will cover Italic Basics & Beyond with focus on on the lower case letters. Her handout will have exemplars of both lower and upper case letters along with examples of her lettering and a Pangram Practice guide!

    Envelopes Do's, Don't, & Designs with Erica McPhee presenting via Zoom

    Designing envelopes by learning spacing & how to deal with various addresses, USPS recommendations, creating guidelines and margins, and trying different layout designs.

    Blackletter Lettering with Vivian Mungall presenting in person

    The blackletter style for the workshop is a marriage of Textura and Fraktur. The alphabet was created by Earl Lupfer, the instructor of the Zanerian College of Penmanship in Columbus, Ohio. The exemplar was found in the Ziller Archives and shows Lupfer's originality.

    Pat designed a 4 hour class for the Scribes. First going thru the basic strokes and then teaching 2 different flowers that can be used to decorate your calligraphy or an envelope.

    it is a wonderful hand for newbie calligraphers as well as those with more experience.  Carrie will go over the basics for beginners and  pen cornering and pen manipulation techniques for the more advanced.

    Meeting will start at 12:15 followed by the class at 12:30

    Angie Vangelis presenting Playful Parallel Pen
    Angie will be teaching the class in person. She will be teaching unique ways to use the Pilot Parallel Pen. There is a $15 fee for a packet from the teacher. The class will be 4 hours long,  recorded and available for 3 weeks

    End of Season

    The May Luncheon will be in April so the members can meet and have a chance to talk to Angie.

Located at the the corner of (414) Maitland Blvd. & Maitland Avenue.

Directions: Take I-4 to the Maitland Blvd. (SR414) exit and head east.

Turn right onto North Maitland Ave. First right turn is the entrance to the Shalom Orlando. You will see the Main Entrance Lobby straight ahead as you are entering. You will need photo ID to enter the building.

There will be signs in the building directing you to our meeting room.

You will take the hallway to the right as you enter the building.

Alternate routes without using I-4 can be found using 17-92 and also Maitland Avenue, as well as others.
